John currently works for the U.S. Department of Energy’s - National Nuclear Security Administration at Counter-Terrorism Operation Support (CTOS) as the National Outreach Director.  

John spent two years at the Department of Homeland Security’s - Domestic Nuclear Detection Office in Washington, DC within the Operation Support Directorate as a Senior Law Enforcement Liaison. 

His law enforcement career extended from 2000 to 2010, and he retired early from the Florida Highway Patrol / Florida Department of Transportation - Office of Motor Carrier Compliance (OMCC) as a State Law Enforcement Lieutenant in Special Operations.  
He was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps - 4th Marine Division - 8th TKBN, and 14th Marines – Headquarters - Operations Platoon.  His positions included NBC warfare defense instructor, NBC NCO at 14th Marines, and a Tank Crewman. 

He attended the Defense Nuclear Weapons School in 2016, Harvard University for Radiological Terrorism and Emergency Planning in 2014, earned a Masters in Homeland Security from the American Military University 2013, and has Bachelors in Information Science from Florida State University. 

During the 2014 National Homeland Security Conference in Philadelphia PA, John was the Moderator and Speaker at the Preparing for a Radiological/Nuclear Disaster breakout session. He worked PRND operations in 2015 for the Pope Visit to Washington DC, and the NYC 4th of July Celebration (heightened terror alert).  In 2016 John trained the Canadian Royal Mounted Police (RCMP) Parliamentary Protection Service on PRND countermeasures and team operations at their facility in Ottawa Canada. In June 2016 John was a presenter at the National Homeland Security Conference in Tampa, Introduction to Radiological/Nuclear WMD Operations for Law Enforcement.
