Paul Vecchio, Vice President, Training and Special Programs at North American Rescue, Greer, SC, leads programs that support mission critical medical products and services provided to the U.S. military, federal agencies, law enforcement, EMS, and pre-hospital life savers.  Paul’s areas of responsibility include a focus on projects in the "public access bleeding control" domain, with the goal of providing individuals employed in the commercial sector, government organizations, schools, and other at-risk U.S. infrastructure with immediate access to lifesaving hemorrhage control devices at point of wounding in order to save lives.

Prior to North American Rescue, Paul was employed with Triple Canopy, Inc. as the Senior Director for Triple Canopy's Training Department for approximately four and a half years.  He was responsible for the daily operational management, fiscal planning and oversight, compliance, safety, and overall quality of Triple Canopy training contracts for the U.S. Department of State, the Department of Defense, and other U.S. government and non-government organizations, with total contract value exceeding $1 billion.

Prior to his employment with Triple Canopy, Paul served as the Associate Director and Chief of Operations, Center of Operational Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine, Medical College of Georgia for five years.  He managed the administrative, operational, and strategic planning for the Center of Operational Medicine’s major programs and also conducted curriculum development and training implementation in support of the University’s contracts with several federal agencies.  Under contract with the FBI, Paul served as the Project Manager and Senior Instructor for the FBI’s pre-deployment medicine training programs for Afghanistan and Iraq.

Previous to Paul’s work at the Medical College of Georgia, he retired from active duty after serving 22 years in the U.S. Army Special Forces.  His Special Forces military occupational specialties included medicine, weapons, intelligence, and operations.  Paul’s operational experience is drawn from numerous overseas deployments and specialized training throughout his military career while assigned to Special Operations Forces units.

Paul received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Sociology from the University of the State of New York and has numerous military and civilian medical certifications and published medical works.  He received multiple awards and decorations for his military service, including The Legion of Merit as his highest award.  Paul is a member of several military, law enforcement, and medical professional societies and associations and serves the community in various volunteer and non-profit organizations.
