Mike is an Aviation Safety Inspector, unmanned aircraft system (UAS) Specialist for the Federal Aviation Administration. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the Univ. of California Riverside. After graduation he entered U.S. Air Force Undergraduate Pilot Training with follow on assignments to Clark Air Base Philippines and Laughlin AFB Texas. After active duty he flew C-5’s in the Air Force Reserve and flew for two major airlines, USAirways and Northwest Airlines.  Mike transitioned from the C-5 to the HH-60G where he flew for 13 years as a Search and Rescue Pilot for the Air Force Reserve out of Portland Oregon. After retirement from the Air Force he flew the ScanEagle UAS off of Navy ships as contractor in the Arabian Gulf and Southern Philippines. Mike also worked for 2 years with Northrup-Grumman at Edwards Air Force Base as a test pilot on the Global Hawk UAS program. Following flight test Mike joined the FAA in 2011.
